The Glenturret Honours its Distillery Manager

In 2016 the Glenturret distillery presided over the end of one of the most significant eras in its history. After 40 years in the industry, their Distillery Manager, Neil Cameron reached retirement. To mark this momentous occasion, they bottled a very special, limited release. I quote their website here:

“Shining some sunshine on a whisky career that now spans four decades, Glenturret Distillery’s latest release, Cameron’s Cut, was laid down to rest in 1987 in a first fill sherry cask and was bottled winter 2016”.

“Neil’s lifelong passion for Scotland’s favourite drink is firmly distilled in The Glenturret brand where tradition that is at the heart of what we do: making whisky the same way it was made in 1775 when the distillery first opened. It is this passion and skill that led to his recognition as Icons of Whisky Distillery Manager of the Year 2016.”

The Cameron’s Cut is a truly rare, limited collector’s edition 29 Year-Old, cask strength single malt and is a unique Glenturret expression. At the time, fans of The Glenturret were given the opportunity to enter in to a ballot to purchase one of the 209 numbered bottles that were available for sale, leaving just a handful remaining.

There are now just 11 bottles remaining, available through the distillery only, and we have been fortunate enough to get hold of one such bottle as our May prize giveaway, making this month’s Dream Whiskies competition a singularly exclusive opportunity to own a very rare collector’s bottling.
